Raku Night
Join Artistree and guest artist Anissa Barber on Saturday, October 24th for Raku Night! Raku is an ancient Japanese form of pottery that is fired at a low temperature and cooled rapidly. The literal translation of Raku is ‘pleasure’ or ‘enjoyment.’ During a Raku firing, pottery is removed from a hot kiln while still glowing, producing unique crackling, metallic colors, smoky surfaces, and dramatic variations in the glaze. Choose your favorite piece from our selection of hand-thrown Raku pottery and pick your preferred time slot.
